Q-NRG+
The new generation of Metabolic Monitor for Indirect Calorimetry in Clinical and Critical Care Practice
OVERVIEW
Q-NRG+ is the first Indirect Calorimeter specifically intended for Resting Energy Expenditure (REE) in patients who are mechanically ventilated or spontaneously breathing.
Indirect calorimetry enables an individualized measurement of metabolism, rather than estimates derived from predictive equations.
Developed in collaboration with COSMED and leading international nutrition institutes, Q-NRG’s product concept and technical specifications were defined alongside the ICALIC Trial study group to ensure clinical relevance and methodological rigor.
This collaboration resulted in a metabolic system that delivers high accuracy while remaining simple to use in clinical practice.
Q-NRG+ is a medical device.

KEY FEATURES
Individual assessment
The Q-NRG+ uses indirect calorimetry to assess metabolism through direct measurement of gas exchange. Results accurately reflect an individual’s metabolic status, supporting evaluation of fitness, response to nutrition strategies, and weight management planning.
Gold Standard
With more than 30 years of experience behind its design, Q-NRG+ has been validated in vitro and in vivo in international multicenter studies.
Quick to operate, clean
and maintain
Q-NRG+ is designed to minimize setup and measurement time. The system requires minimal warm-up and no daily user-assisted calibrations, with all functions performed through a few taps on the touchscreen.
Easy workflow
An intuitive interface and guided prompts make the Q-NRG+ simple to operate across all procedures, reducing setup time and user error.
Compact
The Q-NRG+ is a lightweight, portable system that runs on battery or can be plugged in, without sacrificing the comfort of a large LCD color touchscreen.
Affordable
Q-NRG+ has been designed to compete with conventional metabolic systems, at a fraction of the cost. Its use aims to reduce patients' length of stay and, ultimately, decrease costs in ICU.

PRODUCT INSIGHT
The Q-NRG+ provides flexibility for a variety of clinical settings, assessing different patient's conditions and with different techniques (ventilator mode, canopy hood and/or face masks), from adults to pediatric starting from 10 kg.
