Spirometry test with COSMED Quark PFT at University of Milan (Italy)
Spirometry is the most common type of Pulmonary Function Test. This test measures how much air a subject can breathe in and out of his lungs, as well as how easily and fast he can blow the air out of his lungs.
Doctors use spirometry tests to diagnose these conditions:
- COPD
- Asthma
- Restrictive lung disease, such as interstitial pulmonary fibrosis
- Other disorders affecting lung function
Spirometry tests also allow doctors to monitor chronic lung conditions to check whether current treatment is improving patient's breathing.
