COSMED announces merger of Life Measurement, Inc. (LMI) with COSMED USA, Inc.

As a result of the recently completed acquisition of Life Measurement, Inc. (LMI), a leading provider of body composition assessment equipment in infants, children and adults, COSMED USA, Inc. and LMI have merged, with COSMED USA, Inc. as the surviving company.

COSMED USA, Inc., and its parent company, COSMED srl, a European company with Headquarters in the province of Rome, Italy, will continue to develop, manufacture, and market LMI's products, which include the BOD POD® and the PEA POD® Body Composition Tracking Systems. With the addition of Gold Standard body composition assessment products, COSMED further enhances and complements its already extensive offerings, which include application-specific solutions for the measurement of Exercise Capacity (VO2max) and Indirect Calorimetry, and Gold Standard products such as the K4 b2, and the Fitmate, and Quark product lines.

As a result of this merger, the LMI organization will become part of the existing COSMED USA, Inc. organization. COSMED USA, Inc. will also maintain LMI’s office and production facilities in Concord, CA as well as continue to use its Chicago, IL offices. COSMED USA, Inc. will focus on providing the best and most comprehensive Cardiopulmonary and Metabolic solutions for the Medical, Research, Sport Science and Performance, and Wellness markets. With an enhanced US-based organization, COSMED USA, Inc. will also be able to respond to these markets’ high requirements.

With our extensive product offering and motivated organization, we intend to develop Cardiopulmonary and Metabolic solutions accessible to all. We look forward to bringing this new and unique approach to the market.
