Testing for the podium: Oisín O’Briain prepares with COSMED technology
Oisín O’Briain, organiser and athlete of the endurance cycling event Mondello24, visited the Sports Lab at Beacon Hospital as part of his preparation for the race.
With last year’s podium finish as motivation, Oisín is aiming even higher this year. To fine-tune his performance strategy, he underwent two key assessments using COSMED technology:
- VO₂max testing with the Quark CPET
- Body composition analysis with the BOD POD
Working alongside Exercise Physiologist Chris Simpson, Oisín analysed the data to uncover insights into his metabolic and aerobic fitness, vital for success in a 24-hour team cycling race. We’re proud to support athletes pushing limits with science-backed performance testing.
