COSMED France Webinair 2026 "Pathologies Pulmonaires à l’exercice : au-delà de la limitation ventilatoire"
On June 9, 2026, COSMED France, in partnership with HYLAB, hosted a free webinar focused on the assessment of pulmonary pathologies during exercise and on emerging perspectives for interpreting ventilatory responses.
The webinar was presented by Prof. Bernard Aguilaniu, who explored the concept of ventilatory limitation and its role in exercise physiology and clinical exercise testing. While ventilatory limitation is commonly identified through measures such as ventilatory reserve or mechanical ventilatory constraints, respiratory dysfunction extends far beyond these traditional concepts.
During the webinar, Prof. Aguilaniu demonstrated how alternative approaches to analyzing ventilatory responses can provide valuable additional insights, helping clinicians and researchers better understand the complex physiological mechanisms underlying exercise intolerance and respiratory disorders.
Through clinical examples and physiological considerations, participants were introduced to broader frameworks for interpreting ventilatory patterns during exercise, offering practical tools for healthcare professionals, exercise physiologists, and researchers involved in cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET).
Watch the full webinar recording to discover how a more comprehensive analysis of ventilatory responses can enhance the evaluation of pulmonary pathologies during exercise and support more accurate clinical decision-making.
