The ADP technology uses whole body densitometric principles to determine body composition (Fat and Fat-Free Mass) guaranteeing high accuracy and excellent test-retest repeatability. Since 1995 this technology has been validated in over 2000 published research articles within a diverse range of subjects including athletes, elderly, obese, pregnant women, military and children.
Completely safe and non-invasive
The BOD POD’s Air Displacement Plethysmography has eliminated the invasiveness of Dual Energy X-Ray Absorptiometry (DXA) as well as the difficulties associated with underwater submersion in hydrostatic weighing.
Quick test time (less than 5 minutes)
The BOD POD’s efficient automatic calibration system, the easy subject maneuvers and the user-friendly software interface allow for a complete test to be accomplished in less than 5 minutes.
Flexibility in testing special populations
The BOD POD is ideal for assessing the body composition of special populations such as children (young children from 2 to 6 years with Pediatric Option), the elderly, the disabled and subjects weighing more than 250 kg or with heights above 2 mt.

The BOD POD is powered by OMNIA software that provides user-friendly and straightforward interface, database management activities, communication via HL7® protocol, networking and integration of BOD POD test data with all COSMED systems and connected devices making possible correlating Body Composition with data coming from other assessment such as Resting Energy Expenditure of Cardio Respiratory Fitness (VO2Max).
